Labeled by some as the creator of “middle class rap”, Kid DET prefers to see his music as he sees himself- expressions of a young person trying to manage through the complications and complexities, the highs and lows of life and relationships. To Kid DET, people are just people, all with their own bundles of personal and societal challenges. He himself has always battled anxiety and depression, sometimes severe which had often kept him from doing the things he loved. Writing and recording music has always been Kid DET’s place of retreat and salvation.
As a hip hop junkie and a lover of music of all genres, listeners to Kid DET’s compositions will hear his many influences from the world of hip hop and beyond. He loves to collaborate with his Finest Edge crew. He created the concept of Finest Edge Music at age 14 to be a place where like-minded friends and others could collaborate and be together. Kid DET’s collaborations reflect the internal harmony of their bonds.
Kid DET’s only desire is to make music that will resonate with someone where the time taken to listen to his work will be a positive time spent in that person’s day. He wants to share the experience not only of his music but also of his life and the lives of his fans as a community brought together by his songs.

Kid DET's album release "The Bachelor" focuses on the psychological and emotional roller coaster that is relationships and mental health. It has surpassed 10 million IG impressions and has been added to over 1000 playlists.
